All-Star Information

Introduction

Canyon Creek Little League provides the opportunity for participation in the Little League ® sanctioned Tournament of Champions and All-Star Tournaments following the end of the regular CCLL season.  The Tournament Of Champions include division winners in Majors and AAA from around District 57. The International All-Star tournament includes teams from the individual leagues throughout Little League Baseball worldwide. This tournament begins with over 16,000 teams. This is a highly competitive tournament and very intense competition that provides an extraordinary learning experience for each of its participants. It is considered an honor to represent your league as an All-Star.

The Little League All-Star tournament is the tournament that leads to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania shown yearly on ESPN! It is a great achievement to make it all the way to Little League World Series.

In addition, post-season teams will participate in at least three tournaments hosted by other leagues within District 57. These tournaments are competitive and include teams from within and outside the district.

    Player Selections

Selection to either a District All-Star or Tournament team is accomplished via rankings of the All-Star player pool. Mangers from Majors, AAA and AA observe players from their divisions throughout the regular season, as is reasonably possible. These observations occur from actual games played, games umpired and games otherwise viewed by this group. These managers rank the eligible player pool and the (10) top ranked players from each age group are then placed on the District team(s). The remaining (2) players are selected from the eligible player pool by the All-Star manager selected for each age group to fill out the roster.

Once District team rosters are filled, the remaining player pool will make up the tournament teams. The remaining top (10) ranked players from each age group will be placed on the tournament teams. The additional (2) players are then selected from the remaining eligible player pool by the Tournament manager selected for each age group.
Note: In the event there are not enough players for a specific age group to fill a tournament team roster, that age group may not be represented and the team may fold for the tournament season.

Each manager within the three divisions will receive a list of eligible players from their division on (TBD). They will have three days in which to complete the rankings and return them to Canyon Creek Little League’s Webmaster.

The President as well as members of the Board of Directors will build teams based on the manager’s rankings. Ties will be determined by the President and Board of Directors as necessary.

    Manager Selections

Manager selections are appointed by Canyon Creek Little League’s President from the All-Star manager pool and finalized with approval by the Board of Directors for tournament play.

    Coach Selections

All-Star and Tournament managers select his/her coach(s) from any of the regular season managers or coaches approved by the board for All-Stars. Coach selections must be appointed by the League President and finalized with approval by the Board of Directors for tournament play.

Selection as a coach does NOT guarantee a spot on a specific team for the coach(s) player.

    All-Star Fees

In order to participate in CCLL’s post-season program, a $200 *non-refundable fee is required. This covers the cost of uniforms (shirt and cap) as well as entrance fees to at least three tournaments. In the event a team participates in more than three tournaments, additional fees may be required.
    *Note: non-refundable -
1.) In the event a team is folded due to an unfilled roster prior to June 15th, fees will be refunded to those players affected.
2.) In the event a player is not selected for either a District or Tournament team, fees will be refunded to those players affected.

    Time Commitment

It is important to note that the All-Star tournament season is strictly competitive and not recreational. Manager, Coaches and Players are expected to attend all scheduled practices and games throughout the All-Star tournament season which starts on June 16th and usually concludes July 31st. The end for District Teams can go longer depending on the performance of the team. District and Tournament teams usually practice every day games are not being played.

    Tally Counting / Confidentiality

The League President and Vice President(s) will tally the All-Star rankings supplied by the managers. Members of the League’s Executive Board will ensure that there are no conflicts of interest during the process.

No other person(s) shall be involved or know the order or tally of rankings each player received. This information will remain confidential to protect players.

Interfering / Campaigning in the Ranking Process

Canyon Creek Little League has ZERO tolerance for this type of activity. Any manager, coach, player, parent or guardian interfering with the All-Star process in any way, including campaigning for specific player(s) will be disqualified from tournament play.
